Yes, of course, but still. I can't imagine anyone seeing this. Was it a hit?

I saw Smokin Aces today, and I was really disappointed! I had expected something better than that, but it was just difficult to understand and it totally seems as if it were meant to be seen by guys and not girls. I feel that this movie could have been much better, cause the idea isn't that bad and it feels as if the script could have had some real potential. A real disappointment!

I have no clue... It's not released until next week. I get dibs on new movies before they come out cause of my job, but considering how successful the TV show is, there's most likely gonna be an audience for it...

And I totally agree about Smokin' Aces! I kept thinking throughout the movie, "If they did this differently, it would've been cool..."

Ah I see

Yeah, it would have some real potential. A total waste of an interesting idea and somewhat interesting actors

I almost fell asleep during Ratatouille. It was one of the worst pixar films I've ever seen. It was boring and the other people in the theater didn't even like it. Cars is way better.

Really? That's surprising considering all its reviews, but you can't always follow those.

I watched "The Messengers" today, horrible!!! Bad acting (only the mother) + lame story/predictable story = horrible movie

For those saying that Smokin' Aces could've been really good. You're not alone. Read this -> Why Smokin' Aces is the Most Frustrating Film in Cinema History [SPOILERS]

Quote:
Smokin’ Aces is one of the most amazing films I have ever seen. Not because it is good. It isn’t. Not even because it’s really bad, because it isn’t that, either. No, Smokin’ Aces is amazing because it somehow defies the laws of filmmaking in that it manages to take dozens of different ideas and halfway-implement every single one of them. No single concept of the film is fully fleshed out. Everything is a disappointment. And yet, the film is bizarrely watchable. With Smokin’ Aces, director Joe Carnahan managed to craft a film that is constantly, achingly close to greatness, without ever truly getting there. The tired cliché, “so close, but yet so far” has never been put to better use than when describing this film.
It's a long read, but it's entirely worth it.

I actually really liked the movie, but I still agree with the article.

Exactly! I ended up liking the movie because of Piven's character. Plus, I just ignore the ending as a whole.

The movie is actually getting a prequel but it's going to go straight to DVD.

Yeah, based on the Termor brothers. I liked it. Bought the DVD.

I had the same reaction to Inside Man. I'm like, wait... that's how it ends? But overall enjoyed it.

I didn't even know it was out already!

"Inside Man" started out so amazing that it couldn't keep it up. Great movie, though. That one I have on DVD. I still need to buy Smokin Aces.

Thanks for the link I fully agree with this person, especially with this:

Quote:
Aces is an outright phenomenon. It is absolutely “okay” in every measurable way, from the setpieces to the characters to the plot, and yet the film is more than just okay. It is not bad, it is not good, and in this respect, it is absolutely frustrating. If it were great, we could all love it. If it were a piece of ****, it’d be easy to dismiss and it wouldn’t personally haunt me like it does. If it were okay, I could just forget about it. But no. Smokin’ Aces frequently and repeatedly goes from awful, to okay, to fantastic, and back to awful again throughout the entirety of its 100 minute running time – it’s consistently inconsistent
So true! Exactly what I'm feeling

That little kid with the nunchucks irritated the **** out of me. That was definitely a section in the movie that they could have erased and no one would have missed it
