Movie Friendships #1: You've Got A Friend In Me!
A place where everyone is welcome to discuss your favorite FRIENDSHIPS in film Because Friendships are... I love watching movies when it shows a strong friendship. Like in Ocean's Eleven where you know that Rusty and Danny both have each other backs if anything ever goes wrong. Danny plans the jobs and Rusty his right hand man getting everything done. Their conversations are funny as they go back and forth with quick wit. And I love the little snippet they have when Rusty comes to pick up Danny from prison. (Danny in his tux) Rusty: I hope you were the groom. Danny: Ted Nugent called. He wants his shirt back. Or in Can't Hardly Wait where Denise isn't the cliche best friend who pining after the boy who pining after the popular girl. I like that Preston and her are just best friends who could be more, but just don't feel that way about each other. They know how to read each other well and give surropting advice when needed. She supports his Amanda pining even though she doesn't believe it will come to anything. And he is always trying to make her see the better things in life. So what are some of your favortie oncreen friendships and why? __________________

There have been so many beautiful onscreen friendships in movie history, but my favorite has got to be the relationship between Hallie and Annie in The Parent Trap. I just love that movie.

Stand By Me must be one of the best movies about friendship. Personally I think Gordie and Chris really demonstrate the best onscreen friendship...the way they supported each other and the way they intereacted...very sweet.

My absolute favourite is
CC Bloom and Hillary Whitney in Beaches. That whole movie is just a beautiful depiction of a life time friendship! I also like Vada and Thomas J (my Girl) Gordie and Chris in Stand By Me. |

Forest and Lt. Dane in Forest Gump. The respect turned friendship relationship built through the years of watching each other's back was very real and touching. From Forest saving the Lt. in Vietnam to the Lt. not swindling Forest (who is a person who can easily be deceived) of what's rightfully his (Bubba Gump money and investments), show the foundation of a really strong friendship.

This movie wasn't really that popular, but I really enjoyed the first..like...20 minutes of 'crazy/beautiful' with Kirsten Dunst and Taryn Manning. They seemed like great friends and I though Kirsten acted better than she usually does at that part. That whole beginning is my favorite part of the movie.

Yeah, I'd have to go with what Sushi, Star Dreamer, and pACEy28 said, plus Jay and Silent Bob, and the film guy and the little boy in Cinema Paradiso.
But my all time favorite would be Damiel and Cassiel in Wings of Desire. __________________

Juliet and Pauline in Heavenly Creatures..before it turned real scary.
Dickon, Mary, and Collin in The Secret Garden... Sarah and Becky from The Little Princess... Vada and Thomas J from My Girl... Nicole and Maddy from crazy/beautiful... Jim, Mickey, Pedro, and Neutron in The Basketball Diaries...all those guys demonstrated turning points in coming of age....though thru some pretty sick stuff. |

C3PO & R2D2. They are funny. They fight & disagree, but always end up together.
