I wouldn´t call Raoul a dbag but he´s certainly not as perfect as he thinks he is. IMO he doesn´t really love Christine but more the image of them being childhood sweethearts. Same with Christine. She went with Raoul because he´s "safe", she was scared of her intense feelings for Erik. IMO she loved Erik all along, I mean why would she otherwise (if we look at the stage versions) go to him the night before her wedding with Raoul and make love to him?

I also think Raoul somehow knew on a subconcious level that Gustave was never his and that Christine never really loved him. Otherwise he wouldn´t be a drunk and a gambler and act so cold towards Gustave.

hence the song, "Why Does She Love Me?"

Is it just me or does "Beauty Underneath" sound a lot like "Superstar" from JCS?

Many of the LND songs sound familiar to other musicals. There's one part that I swear is from Les Miserables. ALW wrote Love Never Dies title track only with different lyrics and it was performed at his 50th birthday party at the Royal Albert Hall (I have that concert on dvd and it's so amazing)

Do you know if I can find that concert on Youtube somewhere?

Yeah, the OfficialRUG (really useful group) has the videos. You can just search for one and you'll see all, like search, "Michael Ball-Vaults of Heaven" and it'll be from OfficialRUG

My favourite version of POTO is the 2004 version starring Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler.

Such a beautiful story and Emmy Rossum was so graceful in the role of Christine! :)

Indeed. And to think he was going to be a lawyer.
