Natalie Portman looked cute but the speech was kind of embarrassing. I love that Colin Firth won! And the movies I most want to see now are The King's Speech and The Fighter. |

I've seen almost all of these films and overall I was really happy with the results.
And I thought that Mila Kunis was gorgeous tonight. Bet no one saw me saying that __________________

I don't really get it why The Social Network won so many Globes. I was sure that Inception would win in one category. At least Colin Firth won. Jim Parsons speech was really cute. But the whole ceremony was a bit boring. Anyway, Ricky Gervais was mean-spirited and it was the best thing

I finally saw Inception a couple of weeks ago and I thought that it was really over-hyped. I found the movie very boring if I'm being honest. I think that The Social Network is far superior to it I still need to see The Kings Speech and 127 Hours, but at this time I think that The Social Network has been my favorite movie so far this year, just slightly ahead of Black Swan.

For me it was quite the opposite. I thought The Social Network was over-hyped. Matter of taste I so want to see 127 Hours.

Inception is a very well made movie, and it totally needs your 100% concentration in that movie, Leo is fab as always - love him
I am so happy and glad that Annette Benning won for the Kids are alright and also winning Best movie for comedy/musical, i liked her speech, short and simple and overwhelming - just how it should be __________________

I liked The Social Network just fine. I've seen Fincher do better (Zodiac), and I really felt that at the end of the day, The Social Network was Wall Street with computers. I liked that Inception blended different genres and tones. I like that it was bold and over the top and still managed to be effective. The Social Network was skilled but ultimately ordinary and traditional. What made it a 'phenomenon' was the actual Facebook craze; stripped of it, I wouldn't be able to point to anything exceptional about the film, not anything Fincher hasn't done before and better, only less accessible.

I think Inception is just not an award-winning film. You know what I mean? It's not a typical Golden Globe or Academy Awards film. Especially because it was successful at the box office... ROCKSTAR I totally agree. But because the film is based on a true story and made with a critical view they love it! Even though Inception is more intelligent on many different levels. __________________

I'm not even looking at The Social Network as a true story about facebook. I'm looking at it as an actual film going experience. Yes, it may have been an ordinary or traditional film, but it's the way that the story was told that makes it stand out. You have phenomenal performances all around and it's just a very captivating film. It holds your attention by just being what it is, unlike Inception where you have to pay attention because you know you have to. Plus, what is wrong with a traditional film? Nothing. Those are usually the best films to watch. And yes, Fincher has done better work. I love David Fincher and I think he was totally screwed the year Zodiac came out. The man is long overdue for an Oscar, which is why this film is going to give it to him.
Inception was just blah to me. I understood it on the first time viewing so it's not that I was confused or not paying attention. It just felt like it was all "LOOK OVER HERE! NOW LOOK OVER HERE!" with all its visuals. It actually reminded me a bit of Avatar (which I thought was sub-par and done before). It was like Avatar and Memento had a baby (and I actually love Memento). So yes, while I think the Inception was a very inventive and imaginative film, I just don't think it's Best Picture material. Should it be nominated? Yes it should, but to say it's better than The Social Network, The Fighter, Black Swan, etc...just no. It's not. But that's all just my opinion. __________________

I have barely seen any of the movies nominated.
I saw Black Swan--so I'm happy that Natalie won...but yeah, her speech was awkward. I love Ricky and I hope he gets invited back again. __________________

While I loved Inception when I saw it in theaters, I found myself forgetting that it even came out this year
I was a little disappointed that Black Swan didn't win best picture, but thought The Social Network was deserving so that really didn't bother me too much. I"m very glad Natalie Portman won best actress though - the role she played is the kind you really have to immerse yourself in and she did it spectacularly. The entire time I was watching it I was just thinking "I can't believe sweet little I-was-in-Where-The-Heart-Is Natalie Portman is the actress I'm watching on the screen right now!" I was also disappointed Tangled didn't win more, but again not disappointed in the winner for Best Animated Film - Toy Story 3. Overall, I thought it was a pretty satisfying night and I wasn't too incensed over any of the winners. __________________
