He didn't but Locke was telling the truth.

^^ Yeah, if I remember correctly, right after this scene was the flashback of Locke in real life at his job at the box company.

All I can remember is that Locke was pretty miserable when he was working in that box company, I think he was already in a wheelchair.

yeah, that's what I remember too, that he was miserable and very much bored.

And than company belonged to Hurley, right? All the characters were connected somehow.

^^ Yeah, the interconnection of the characters in their back stories was one of the main elements in the show. It's often a big twist as to how everyone is supposed to know each other.

Yep, he had a lame job and was paralyzed. He really didn't have many reasons to be happy.
