Not necessarily. When Prometheus came out Ridley made it pretty clear that he didn't consider any of the later Aliens films canonical, just his own.

Really? I heard Ridley loved Cameron's Aliens, and I think that of all the sequels that should be the only one considered canon as it's a classic in its own right, and it fits seamlessly with Ridley's movie.

Ridley doesn't seem to think so. He made a point of saying how Prometheus was prequel solely to Alien (his original film) and not the other films.

The only Aliens film I ever liked was Aliens: Resurrection. Otherwise the franchise can go hang as far as I'm concerned. I got through Pronetheus and I wish I hadn't. It wasn't helped by the presence of Charlize Theron. The only time I've ever liked her was in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Well, I remember hearing that Ridley liked Cameron's film. I don't think that Ridley has any intention of retconnning Aliens, sum1. His films are all prequels to Alien, which won't change Aliens in terms of continuity or canon. Aliens is the only Alien sequel I like. I can't stand the others.

I didn't watch Alien: Convent. The trailers revolted me and it looked like the lead actress was doing a terrible job, so I steered clear of it.

They could if he throws in something at odds with Aliens. I've hated James Cameron for ages. Terminator 2 was reasonably good, but I hate Titanic and Avatar and I have very mixed feelings about Dark Angel. Cameron's behavior on receiving his Oscar for Titanic infuriated me. I think Titanic and Avatar are two of the worst films ever made. Aliens isn't terrible, but I find it a bit limited. It doesn't reallly interest me.

I don't like Charlize Theron either. There's speculation that Vickers is a robot.

The lead actress wasn't much to be excited about in Covenant, but the other parts made up for it.

My all time favourite will always be Aliens (probably my all time favourite movie full stop). 3 and Resurrection I don't like as much as the rest.

I also thought Vickers was an android, and Ridley Scott implied as much.

I didn't dislike Covenant, sum1, but I didn't think it was the greatest thing in the world. It was about even with Prometheus.

Sorry, I love James Cameron, sum1. The Terminator, Aliens, Terminator 2, True Lies, and I even liked Titanic. Avatar and The Abyss I'm a bit ambivalent about.
