It's hilarious. I kind of wish Charles went through with it for just a couple of minutes. I would have loved to see Logan think he is a little girl.

I found this quote from Patrick Stewart about Hugh from an interview he did before filming Days of Future Past:

It's one of my favorite scenes too. That and when Logan calls The Professor "wheels." Such a douchey thing to say.

I think he was just making fun of the nicknames they already had. The only one I remember him making up was wheels and he was being snarky.
