I think the cameo symbolizes that Logan's fate was inevitable. No matter what history was changed and no matter what Mystique or anyone else tried to do, his fate would inevitably be in the real Stryker's hands getting adamantium pumped into him and turned into a killing experiment with his memory erased.

That's how I took it too plus was nice cause thus far he's made appearances on every single X-Men thus far

We knew cause he was in the last trailer before the movie I quick glimpse showing Wolverine was to make an appearance - he really was true beast mode no humanity

glad we finally saw the weapon x scene --after a lot of hints of it in x-men 2 it flowed nicely, and hugh played it very well. Its a very savage scene in the comics, he becomes very feral
