They can't maintain a film continuity forever, sum1. Retconning always happens because actors leave roles and the storylines get adjusted to new filmmakers. And to be honest, their version of Age of Ultron cannot and will not be the only time the Ultron story gets told on screen.

They can easily maintain the same actors as the same characters for another 5-10 years, minus RDJ/Iron Man. You're really talking about rebooting, not retconning, and they probably won't reboot, just switch the focus to new/newer characters and kill off older characters. That's what they've indicated they're planning to do. Don't bet on your Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne film yet (unless you want one with Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer -the only version you're likely to get anytime soon). In fact, the Ant Man/Wasp area of the MCU is one of the newer parts and thus likely to last until a later period than the most mainstream parts. Don't expect the MCU to folllow the pattern of Fox's X-Men franchise. It's a lot more planned out, deliberate and strategic. Just because you got Scott and Jean eventually in Fox's X-Men doesn't mean you'll get young Hank/Janet before you're an old, old man. Just because they're going to ruin my fun doesn't mean you'll get your fun.
And personally I couldn't give a flying fart about Ultron. Overrated tin can. __________________
