So I'm seeing him again next wednesday. We originally had dinner plans but he has a hotel so we might go there, watch a few movies, cuddle. I'm so excited to see him!

I need a little bit of advice though. I'm having trouble giving him eye contact. He likes to gaze and stare at me but I find it really uncomfortable and can't look at him for prolonged periods. I think its my social anxiety kicking in. He says its fine, he'll be patient, and I can take my time but I'd really like to be happy ot do that, otherwise its like I dont want to look at him

My advice is talk. While you're talking, you kinda have to look at him, and even if you don't and look at other stuff, it still won't feel like you're ignoring him. Besides, talking is the best way to let him know how you feel about this.

I don't know if that helped at all, but then again, I've never had such a problem, so it's hard to know what to say =/

Any advice is welcome i firstly told him how i feel so he tries to look away until i feel ready to look at him and he has been exceptional and says its ok but gradually I want to look at him more. I feel the nerves just got the better of me.

I think it's totally normal that you're still a bit shy around him, if you're a shy person. You get more comfortable as you go, you know

Haha I guess its cute too. We were cuddling and I was giggling when he was staring again and he just brushed the hair out of my face and went "God, you're cute." So it makes me think he doesn't mind. I kept thinking I said something wrong when he was staring but he said he was only looking because I wasn't looking at him

Yeah. I can give eye contact to anyone else but no one else stares at me like he does. He tends to do it when hes eyeing what I'm wearing or telling me how I look.

I feel like I am doomed because my mom had something like this (i assume) with my dad so I never got to witness any relationships of that kind and now when I get to try myself I mess it all up so bad that I feel like badarse of the planet abd hate myself to no end...

I also had issues looking people in the eye. I am socially awkward and since I had conjunctivitis I became moreso.

I have an advice- if the guy has prettiest eyes you can imagine it's the thing!
My bf has eyes that are equals to my most favorite eyes (Matt Bomer) and I just can't (couldn't!) stop drowning in them...

And I really REALLY do LOVE cuddling! And hugging... and I fell in love with his kisses and even started liking that stubble on him...

He so bloody changed my dislikes to adoration points and it cannot be undone...
he undid me in ways I had lost hope to ever be....

Well... looks like I'll be miserable until my dying day..

Oh, yeah, my boyfriend does the staring thing too, Theresa. At first, I would blush. He always says: "If I can't stare at you, who can I stare at?" Or say something like, "You're beautiful."

It's a nice boost in self esteem... especially if you are self conscious like me.

Yeah exactly Tina. I asked him to stare at someone else, and he scans the room and says "there's no one else I want to look at." and he just looks at me again I guess it is a compliment! Most of the time he doesn't realise he's doing it.

I learned a long time ago that, if you're uncomfortable to look someone in the eyes, look at their eyebrows or around their eyes. Usually, they can't tell the difference and you can feel a little relief. This also helps to train you to look at their eyes longer because you can flit back and forth easier!

That helped me in a work environment, at least. Maybe it could work for you?
