^ I haven't seen it and just hearing about the movie made me reconsider my stance. I mean, I don't think what happened was a good thing, obviously, but we literally don't know how involved she was with what happened to Nancy Kerrigan. I mean, in a way where she could have prevented it. I don't doubt that she covered up stuff after the fact.

And I had forgotten just how much scorn she got from the figure skating world even before that all happened. How she passed for someone from the wrong side of the tracks who didn't deserve to be there in the first place or something...

Still doesn't make any of it right, of course. But I've gotten older, more mature, and I can see things more completely now, I feel.

To be honest, before there was a movie about it, I had no idea that it even happened. So by the time I watched it, I knew about it, but wasn't really on one side or the other.

A friend of mine was going to see Annihilation tonight... Even for Oscar Isaac, I don't have much desire to see that one.

I'm not that bothered by it this year either, I do hope Frances and Allison win their categories though...

Be great if 'Get Out' won big..

Well, I care... I mean, inasmuch as I have an opinion as to how I'd like things to go. But, after that, it won't change our lives, so obviously you can't really care too much.

I'll be shocked if the movies and people identified by that article don't win, because they're the ones who likely will win, having won everything up until now. Except, of course, for Get Out. I'll be shocked if it wins Best Movie, just because the Oscars usually don't recognize genre. Guillermo del Toro's a shoe-in for director, but I also doubt Shape of Water will win Best Movie for the same reason.

I'm thinking that'll go to Three Billboards. Because of #MeToo, because it's a "regular" movie with a lot of recognizable faces that have been doing work in Hollywood for a long time. It's this decade's Crash, in a way.
