Well my day has sucked arse.
I was out hacking with the mare I ride every Sunday and we, along with some other riders, were trotting along the road quite happily. Then all of a sudden she jumped in to canter and threw a massive buck. I went sailing over her head and smacked down on to the solid concrete. Considering this mare is over 15 hands high, that's no joke. I was sore all over to start with but eventually that faded, apart from a stabbing pain in my right foot, I could barely stand up. The instructor had to call a cab to take me to hospital. Six hours and three x-rays later they announced I had strained ligaments and sent me home with crutches and painkillers. It was ok earlier but it's hurting like hell now *winces* I can wiggle my toes but can't put any weight on it. I'll be out of action for at least a week. Scooting about the place on my backside with my foot in the air is so dignified...not. Hope everyone else had a better day. |

I have given up on the blasted crutches and am just hopping about, it's quicker!I need to get dressed now, that will be a challenege, but here goes. |

I can actually put weight on my foot *raises fist in triumph* No more crawling around like a baby for me, no sir
Of course it's still sore, I'm slower than usual and I look like an 85 year old woman with a limp However I'm actually walking which is more than I could manage just two days ago, so yay progress I think it's a combination of the pils I'm taking and sheer determination that it won't beat me  |
