'New Moon' release date announced

LOS ANGELES - "Twilight" fans have a short wait for the next installment of the vampire saga.

Summit Entertainment spokesman Paul Pflug says " New Moon " is following just 12 months after the first movie, opening Nov. 20, 2009, over the same weekend as "Twilight" this year.

Summit has tapped Chris Weitz (" The Golden Compass ") to direct "New Moon," based on the second book in Stephenie Meyer 's best-selling series about the dangerous romance between a teen ( Kristen Stewart ) and a vampire ( Robert Pattinson ) fighting his bloodsucking instincts.

Weitz is taking over the franchise from "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke . "Twilight" has shot to $150 million at the box office since debuting Nov. 21.

Well they pulled it off with Twilight on the same schduele..NM has had a lot of changes though, I hope it can do the same.

I just thought of this.. when I was reading New Moon and I read about Felix, I always pictued Micheal Copon in my head, because that was his name on OTH.. plus he was supposed to be brawny and did things like winking at Bella..

I just read through part of this thread, and will read through the rest in a moment. Copon doesn't seem so bad for Jacob, though I haven't really seen his acting. Lautner would definitely be too young looking - it has to be believable that Jacob is just as built if not more than Edward.

Perhaps the reason most think that Copon can't act is because he broke up Lucas and Brooke, right? I know of a lot of hardcore shippers don't like anything that breaks their couple up - including of the actor of the character that does. I haven't seen that part of OTH so I wouldn't know for sure. Just a thought.

I am a die hard Lucas Peyton shipper, so I was glad that Brooke and Lucas weren't together but Copon isn't a good actor. He isn't a bad actor either but his acting abilities aren't the best....
