Anyone see this:
Exclusive: Summit looking at Academy Award-nominated directors for 'Breaking Dawn' | EW.com

Quote:
Yes, it’s still early days, but Summit is trying to up its pedigree for its big-screen adaptation of the final installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. Sources tell EW that the studio has reached out to at least three top-notch directors, including Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) to gauge their interest in what is likely to be two movies. (Van Sant’s reps confirmed that he’s been approached, but Coppola and Condon’s people didn’t return phone calls by press time. Summit declined to comment.)
No decisions are likely to be made until the studio delivers screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s detailed outline to the directors. That should happen sometime next week. Until then we can just wonder how these three very diverse directors will approach Bella’s controversial birthing scene.

I like the idea of a woman director, but Sophia? Her movies move so slow. I was bored during Lost In Translation.
And I did like Marie Antoinette but that was because of the pretty costumes, sets, and music. That also moved slow.

And Breaking Dawn already is a slow moving book. Imagine if Sophia directed.

But this part:No decisions are likely to be made until the studio delivers screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s detailed outline to the directors. That should happen sometime next week. made me go finally!

IKR? I think it's silly that we haven't had it officially confirmed yet. Because everyone's talking about director possibilities now, so it's clearly a given that it's happening

I would cry if they told us it wasn't going to happen, or we're getting CHardwicke again.

Don't think you have to worry on either count, bb.
As for directors ~ well, they seem to be thinking big names right now. Even Kristen heard about it.
TBH I don't care how well-known the director is, as long as he/she captures the essence of the story.

Same here.

I don't know about Quentin Tarantino. I don't like his films and I don't want to see BD in his style.

Thanks.

My sister likes the idea of Tarantino directing and I think she is swaying me to agree.
