It does make sense they planned a sequel if successful. I do like the movie and I haven't read the books mostly cause of the acting and story. However, the tv show gives a more fleshed out story and gives the kids more realistic reactions to trauma

I think if you have to cover that many books a tv show works better!
Though it did work for HP and other books... Though that was 1 book per film

As much as I loved the movie and wanted more, I think a TV/Netflix show works better for these books as the timeline moves much quicker from book-to-book, whereas with Harry Potter each book is designed to cover a single school year.

Well, I meant to re-watch the movie before the release date of the show but ran out of time. Now that I've finished all the episodes, I'll be going back to do that. Will definitely share my thoughts on how the first 6 episodes compare to it.
