I looooooooooooove Carol Burnett. I have three of the DVD sets they have been releasing.

I never got to stay up for the Carson show, but I always looked forward to the prime time anniversary shows they did.

That's cool.

Johnny Carson was like a grandfather figure. Kindly, old, and I saw him every night before getting ready for bed. It was my first late night talk show. I don't even remember who was there just before him.

That was a great article. It is wonderful seeing what time capsules these episodes are. I have been enjoying it when I have gotten the chance to watch.

I like him, but he's a lot slower than current Tonight Show. He spends more time interviewing and his monologues are longer.

I guess Jimmy Fallon is keeping up with today's fast-paced lifestyle.

Yep. Back then a talk show meant "talk show". Lol. He did lots of skits though. It just wasn't in every episode.

I watched an ep where Chevy Chase was on. He was promoting Funny Farm. Loved that Funny Farm premiered in theaters on my birthday.

I saw an episode from 1992 and in his monologue Johnny was talking about Donald Trump. "He's always in the news. You can't escape it." How nothing has changed!
