I'm in a musical mood lately. Did anyone else just LOVE this movie? It stars a young Diane Lane, gorgeous Michael Paré, Rick Moranis, Deborah van Valkenbergh and even Willem Dafoe!
It's a story about a rock star, Ellen Aim (Lane) who is kidnapped by a gang of thugs headed by Dafoe. Aim's ex-boyfriend, Tom Cody (Paré) arrives to save the day.

If you haven't bought it, you MUST get the soundtrack. It's incredible!

I loved this movie. I really should get it on DVD.

Willam Defoe, he has the biggest mouth and he shows it in this movie.

I agree, one of the best soundtracks. I still get chills listening to "Tonight is What it Means to Be Young."

Loved this movie and the music too.

I've been thinking about it, is it just me getting old/already being biased or did the movies from the eighties generally have better soundtracks than many more recent movies? With some exceptions of course, but when I think of great soundtracks, many are from the decade.

They definitely had better soundtracks. The lyrics acutally meant something.

I think I should invest in the DVD. Diane Lane doesn't age does she?

She is still very beautiful. I'm glad her career has continued all this time.

Me too. I like that she disappeared when things got too crazy for her and came back when things had calmed down. A very smart move on her part. It's funny to look at the cast; especially Bill Paxton. He went on to do some great movies. Who would have guessed from his character here?
