i dont get it because Victor Miller didn't write or create adult jason or the hockey mask so it's like....you own the name Jason Voorhees and that's it. I kinda with Sean Cunningham won

The whole thing is odd and probably could have been settled a long time ago.

It is still complicated. The original writer owns the rights to the original script (which includes the name "Jason", Camp Crystal Lake, etc.). Sean Cunningham and Horror, Inc. own the rights to adult hockey mask Jason. This report says that if they make a new movie with Jason as we know him, they would have to ask the original writer's permission or something. It's still kinda odd.
