Ferris Bueller's Day Off Appreciation Thread #4 - "They think he's a righteous dude"


John Hughes' classic 1986 story of Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick), a high schooler who skips school by faking sickness to spend the day with his best friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) and girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) in Chicago. All is not well, as Dean Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) and sister Jeannie (Jennifer Grey) plot to catch Ferris in the act.

The parade scene is just iconic. Well, the whole movie is, really. Lol.

It really is iconic and it's one of those movies that will always put me in a great mood and I will watch it when it's on television even though I have it on DVD. I loved A & E's special on "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

That special was really good. I wished they would release that as part of a special feature on a future edition or something.

I agree 100% and I just wish that John Hughes had lived and been able to participate in person.

That would of been nice, but If he had lived, I seriously doubt he would of participated. He was pretty much a recluse. Nobody ever saw or heard from him.

I also doubt that he would've participated too because he was reclusive but, I would've liked to have at least had the option to have him participate in person. I will always love "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

It would of been nice if he participated in something. I know there is a Ferris DVD with Hughes commentary, but I don't have that one.

Cindy Pickett, "Mrs. Bueller", is 66 today. She's only 15 years older than her son. Lol.
