I see a lot of people complain about taking away all of Donna's memories of the Doctot, but if the choice was between that or her death, I can't criticize the choice to let her live by either the writers or the Tenth Doctor.

I also don't see how Rose getting her happy ending with the Doctor she still had feelings for (albeit a cloned version) isn't a fitting final resolution for her character.

Martha getting married to Mickey offscreen is nice, but I don't think it compensates for the way her character was handled while she was an actual passenger in the TARDIS.

See the hard thing is you know what will happen to all these companions seeing it first hand was so heart breaking.

For me Rose was an OK ending but she loved the doctor so she got a version of him not him and we'll she is in a different world but she has her family and I think mickey for a bit to.

Martha although is treated bad at the start I find her now years later as so strong to walk away from the doctor build up her own life, marriage , job and be able to love with no parallel world, her own memories and be alive , new who that is a plus cause she can come back when ever where as the others can't.

Donnas one hurt cause it changes her completely so she doesn't become the awsome Donna we know and love

Rose fell in love with the Doctor BEFORE his Tenth regeneration, so the argument that Rose ending up with the "Metacrisis Doctor" rings hollow because he's not 'really the Doctor she fell in love with' doesn't hold water.

Rose and the Doctor's mutual love for each other is transcendent because it's the one thing not related to the truma and after-effects of the Time War that carried over between his Ninth and Tenth incarnations.

And, again, the Donna thing comes down to 'would you rather she died?' because that's the alternative to her having her memories taken away from her.

Steering this back on topic, I sat down and analyzed the full breadth of Martha's tenure and realized that, because she's barely in "Blink", the way she's handled ends up being a 'wash' because she's written strongly in the exact same amount of episodes in which she's written poorly, but that only increases my feeling that she's a 'failed' Companion.

The good episodes for Martha were "Smith and Jones", "Gridlock", "The Lazarus Experiment", "42", "Utopia", and "The Sound of Drums".

The bad episodes for Martha were "The Shakespeare Code", "Daleks in Manhattan", "Evolution of the Daleks", "Human Nature", "The Family of Blood", and "The Last of the Time Lords".

"Human Nature" and " The Family of Blood" were especially bad and are the absolute nadir of not only Series 3, but all of "nuWho" thus far.
