So first of all, Tim Shaw is gross. He was a formidable villain but I don't want him back.

BlondieLeigh 10-09-2018 08:55 AM

I still can't get over her calling him Tim Shaw.

L i N d $ @ y 10-09-2018 11:10 PM

Why is he called Tim Shaw? Is this a character from the Classic era?

BlondieLeigh 10-10-2018 01:17 PM

I don't think that was his name. Sounded like he was saying something different and she was being intentionally difficult to wind him up by insisting on saying it wrong.

Tooth Fairy? More like Rice Krispie Face. I think you have a little something.... oh, ok.

RE the lack of classic monsters in the current series: I would be surprised if the Daleks don't show up, even for a cameo. Isn't there a clause in the agreement between the Terry Nation estate and the BBC, that dictates that the BBC have to use the Daleks no less than once per series? No matter how little their screentime, they have to be shown. I could be wrong, but I am sure I have read somewhere that there is such a strict rule.

They didn't appear that often in the 60's through 80's, so either it has only come about since 2005 or is false.

I'm not sure what the rule is, only that Terry Nation's estate fought really hard to make sure daleks were in the reboot.

Well it is known for this season that we won't have any classic monsters/aliens just all knew ones

BlondieLeigh 10-13-2018 09:25 AM

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The old villains need a break.

LMAO. I like how it turned out.

BlondieLeigh 10-14-2018 09:42 AM

I kind of loved that she was winding him up, too, and the others were trying to get her to stop antagonising him.
