Yes I'm scared some people are saying that the tardis rejected her cause she is a woman now .. I know people are werid but man I think that fall would seriously injure her

I really don't like that idea. The Eleveth Doctor nearly fell out of the TARDIS, didn't he? So, was the TARDIS rejecting him?

At the end of the Christmas Special we've just seen, 13 is plummeting toward a distinct metropolitan area. Our viewing group did some digging, and we believe it's Carlisle.

This is a cropped still from the episode:

Below is a much-zoomed-in crop of a NASA composite nighttime satellite view of Europe. Allow for: some top-bottom foreshortening, because the POV is something like 45 degrees to the ground; some rotation, because there's no particular reason for North to be the top of the screen when looking down at the Doctor as she falls; and reflection, because studios do that all the time to background images when they think it doesn't matter. The "fingers" on the ends of the Y shape are noticeable in both images.

Here is the source NASA image. If you zoom in to where Carlisle should be in the UK, you'll see the Y-shaped light pattern just above.

Thoughts?

Hi mattlistener Welcome to Fan Forum and to the Doctor Who board I am so glad that you joined us.

Wow that's really cool that you guy were able to figure that out! I hadn't really thought about the city she was plummeting to.

We have a thread dedicated to Thirteen and I am going to merge this thread with that one since this post discusses Thirteen and where she could possible end up when she reaches the Earth.

It was not rejecting her. It caught on fire and lost some of it's navigational powers. The TARDIS hasn't rejected anyone else who's been a woman on the TARDIS so why would it reject the Doctor?

It's stupid, of course, but people who hate the idea of a female Doctor then I can imagine them using anything to bad mouth her.

Or people saying she can't drive the TARDIS because she's a woman. Are we really still doing this? It's 2018 people!!!

And this was my first thought too. 11 nearly fell off the TARDIS so how is that any different from 13 falling off? Some people read into things way too much.

If people were saying that they'd have to change the name to Nurse Who, will have started joking about her not being to fly the TARDIS due to the woman. Even though the Doctor has been rubbish at flying the TARDIS as a man.

It sounds like things are getting pretty ridiculous among some members of the fandom. I hope this dies out once season 11 starts and everyone sees how awesome Jody and Thirteen are.

Exactly. Although there have always been criticisms for every regeneration, I think it's the worse lately because the Doctor is female.

I knew there would be some backlash but I have to say that the amount of upset over Thirteen being a women is surprising to me. People need to find other stuff to get upset about other things that really matter - like world hunger, fresh water shortages for many in the world, and child labor camps.

Not like they can make any difference to the show. Their opinions are meaningless.

that's true. I don't see them making any changes based on these types of opinions.
