Very true, I can say I have tried my best to give each Doctor a chance when first watching someone new in the part. Some it took a while. I was three stories in with Sylvester McCoy when I was ready for him to go ahead and regenerate, but by the end of his 2nd series I was hooked. Similiar story with Peter Capaldi. I more or less accepted Chris, David and matt from day one of seeing their first adventures. I was glad to have my childhood friend back. Now, I think David and Matt have lasting impacts that continue as we still have the memorabilia being released from their eras even now. They remain very popular compared to some Doctors who despite ther own stuff being put out there are not as popular with the children and teenagers IMHO.

Matt was the one I was most worried about. David was my first Doctor, and I wasn't sure how accepting I would be of someone else, but I loved Matt from his first episode, same with Peter Capaldi. I took an episode or two with Chris when I went back to that season, though.

Which story from Matt's first series do u think stands the test of time, then? I like his first episode but hate the Dalek one. I do like the two-parter with Vampires in Venice though.

I didn't like the Dalek one either. I don't think I've ever rewatched it

I have a soft spot for The Beast Below I don't know what the general opinion of it was, though

I only liked The Beast Below because Karen wore a nightdress throughout it.
But I haven't rewatched the Dalek one let alone Series Five in a long time. So much going on.

I don't think I really even paid attention to the Dalek one when it aired. I couldn't say what happened. It just didn't grab my attention like all of the others did.

See i loved David his was the face of when i got into who like really into who so he was amazing saying that i loved matt from the start which i didnt think i would but lucky for me i had caught up to live viewing of who by the time he got around and tbh the eleventh hour is such a great episode until this day a great episode to introduce him it was fantastic .. saying that i did love the beast below made me sad to hear what they did to the creature . forgot about the darlek one all i remember was the rainbow darleks

It was sad I love the ending, though, where it chose to continue to help them despite the torture.

It's hard to accept a new doctor. Look how long it took me accept Peter because Matt was the first doctor since I started to rewatch the show.

Yes it also depends on the first episode like matt first one was amazing Peter was ok could of been better but he got better with more episodes
