I don't want to get any hopes up (certainly not for myself) but I just read the review of the play of one of the Blogtor guys

Quote:
... I overheard a discussion involving a member of staff who stated that the only 'thing' in the way of a DVD release [of Hamlet] was a producer - they need to acquire one. Simple as that!
full review

That is really great to hear

Also ... some audio files of "Shakespeare and Me"

Hm....the only thing in the way of getting a Hamlet DVD is a producer? Really? Would they accept a Canadian one? I could send them mine!

I hope they get one it's just a logical thing to do, people don't miss out and the RSC make tons of money. also I really need to see it, and I'm self centered like that.

I'd definately buy both! :nodL
I should really read up on LLL, because me and shakespeare language has never mixed well in the past, so I want to have some idea of what he's saying. not that I'll be concentrating on the play .. ahem.

I love David, but not even he could make me sit through hours of Shakespeare. I'm sorry, I just couldn't do it- it's just not my idea of entertainment, even for David . Yes, I am studying English Literature at sixth form. Why do you ask?

I didn't think Shakespeare would entertain me much. It never has before. But this production of Hamlet really was BRILLIANT! Yes, David certainly helped a LOT but it was also thrilling, emotional, compelling and even hilarious in all other aspects, as well. I honestly loved every second of it, and would go see a production like this again, with or without David (though preferably with, of course )

ETA: some great stage door pics!

Only David can carry off such a shirt

Go vote for David for a TONY award (and no, not that Tony award )

I'm not doing English Lit because I hated it so much last year, yet I'm still seeing LLL. (which all I know about it is from Doctor Who!) .. I'm not sure I'll be concentrating on the plot!

Nah, I couldn't just go to a play just because an actor I (really really really) like is in it. I mean, I can watch a TV show just because an actor I like is in it- but it doesn't cost me money or make me waste an evening if I don't enjoy it.
