Not being the biggest fan of Colin's era, nothing against Colin, but it was riddled with so many bad decisons, that damaged the show. 1987 was the right time to introduce a new Doctor.
More than any other Doctor, the 7th Doctor evolved from Time And The Rani, to the tv movie. Though we don't get a proper look at the 7th Doctor until the following series, beginning with Remembrance of the Daleks. That is where the mystery that had been lacking since the early Hartnell stories, began to re-enter the show. As for The Rani, I have been wanting her return for a long time.A few years ago, there were rumours that Gillian Anderson had been cast, but they turned out to be just that, rumours. |
