Sums up my biggest problem with the recent Masters, the manic angle. That and I don't feel Simm and Gomez pproach the role all that much. Though I agree with Delgado is the best, dn I like how the Peter Pratt Master is decribed: This version of the character was accordingly vicious, and what Peter Pratt brings out is bitterness. Working from behind a mask, Pratt’s voice and body language are at their best when the Master is operating from the shadows, the strained whispers of a dying man bent on vengeance. The Relationship is no longer playful, it’s sadistic. |

thanks for the link! I don't remember much of the Master from Classic Who. I should probably try to watch some of those episodes so I can see the difference in the recent Master.

I actually do like Missy. (I think the fans were more keen on the John Simm version and didn't like how Michelle portrayed it but I liked Missy.

I'm currently rewatching the Saxon!Master Trilogy ( Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords), and I have to say that, in the context of now having seen almost all of the Classic Masters and the most recent Master (Sacha Dewan's Spy!Master), John Simm's unhinged personality and behavior as the Saxon!Master makes so much more sense and works so much better than it did when I first saw him.
