That's a really dark aspect of Jack that he would be willing to sacrifice his grandson for the millions of kids and that's exactly the kind of pragmatic thinking that the government had at the end of the day. I understand that these events have broken Jack in a new way but what I really wonder is this: will Jack come back to Gwen? What will Gwen do in the meantime? Raise a family with Rhys and have a different life or rise Torchwood out of the ashes herself? I also wonder how the Doctor will react when he finds out about these events or maybe he already knows? So many questions... My main hope for the next series (if there is one) is that Eve Myles is in it.

we NEED a new series!! i will die if it end like this!! and i feel really bad for jack, i think its horrible what he did, but yet that was really the only way, and that makes it JUST that much more horrible! and i think the doctor already knows, hes good about knowing stuff like that

OMG the last scene with Jacks "What for?" and then goes "Me" You just want to hug Gwen. I understand why Jack went and all, but I can't believe that he just left Gwen like that, she clearly didn't want him to go. It was heartbreaking to watch. Thumbs for Eve in that scene, brilliant as always Ahaha I sound mean, because of course I was upset for Jack aswell, I just don't like that he left.
I personally hope that Gwen does carry on with Torchwood, or perhaps Jack comes back and they carry on together, get a new team together ;( Perhaps Martha, Lois? I don't know.

a new torchwood would be BRILLIANT! but it wouldnt be the same without jack!! im just hoping for SOMETHING! and as long as it had eve in it and i agree, that scene was HORRIBLE!!! i really did just wanna hug her!

Man, that's twice now that Jack has left her there. But you know what? The last time he left to go with the Doctor, Gwen took charge of Torchwood so I bet that once she's settled in with the baby, she'll set Torchwood back up on its feet.

i surely hope so! and i can TOTALLY seeing her leading it!! especially after all her badassness in these past episodes!! it would be awesome, different, but awesome

And last time Jack left, he came back, but this will take a lot of time to heal, if he even ever heals. I've been torturing myself with watching the last on BBC iPlayer over and over Ughh and how Gwen goes "You can't run away" but he still does

This episode has left me reeling so much!

ohhh yes, im reeling more then ive reeled in a while and im sure gwen could find about ,but i still dont know about jack! it is going to take a while. but im hoping he'll still come back, and, he cant die, so he has as long as he needs to ponder over things he'll come back (i think im just trying to convine myself of that)

Jack's burden will never heal, that's for sure, but sooner or later, he's gonna have to realise that no matter where he goes, his burden will never leave: that's the kind of wisdom he needs to find within himself.

Eventually he'll realise he can't keep running. What makes it worse is that he didn't just lose his grandson by sacrificing him he lost his daughter aswell.
