I'm getting a bit tired of them too to be honest. Strax works great for comedic relief, like he has done more or less always, but it always feels a little disconnected how they are always thrown into the Doctors storyline without much continuity when it comes to storylines. They just show up

I know that Moffat has a fondness for overly convoluted plotlines sometimes, but i think he has dialed that way too far down with these three.

But i agree with you, the ep did feel a little confusing at times. But i do have a feeling that the episode could seem a bit better when you look back at it after having watched his story-arch unfold in the next couple of episodes.

I enjoyed the episode and I'm pleased with the first impressions I've been given with Capaldi as the Doctor - even though I will always miss Matt given the fact that Matt was *my* Doctor. I enjoyed watching Twelve finding himself and I think I'm going to really enjoy watching his journey

I've seen some critisism of Clara's reaction to Twelve, and I just feel they misunderstand her reaction. Yes, she knows the Doctor regenerates, knows the process, but unlike meeting his previous incarnations, she still had Eleven by her side. Now she's lost the version of him that she knows and she's struggling with accepting the new one. The rug has been pulled from under her and she needs to adjust to the fact that while the Doctor lives on, the incarnation she knew so well is gone forever. And I can imagine it hurt to have him look at her as though she was a stranger.

I still feel I need to properly get to know Clara, but I felt I got a better peek at who she actually is in this episode, unlike the previous season where she was mostly a plot device.

The paternoster gang, was however wonderful from beginning to end of this episode, and I hope we get to see them a lot more (or that they get their own spin-off).

I actually think that it was a good idea that they addressed the drastic age difference between Matt and Peter and that they sort of made Clara the stand-in for the audience and made her go through what certain viewers who are only familiar with the new Series could possibly be going through while dealing with the transformation.

I do think though, that they were balancing on overdoing the significance of the age difference a bit though, with her reaction at times

I agree completely with that Moffat trends to do that a lot aka river the angels and it does get boring

The age this was nice to me what got me what his face and the identity of seeing what you want to see like his speech to Clara and valstra to Clara saying it's the same guy just a different face you look at him and she sees a different person but his still the same doctor

Every new Doctor takes some getting used to. As long as he's still the same character using the same Tardis to save planets and fight evil in the universe I'll never get bored watching this show.

I feel like the magic and fairytale theme is gone and they're back to pure sci-fi now. And I'm honestly okay with that. The choice of direction and music got me to thinking that things are intentionally being done different with Capaldi's era. But rather than mourn for the old style of Smith's run, I'm more excited about what's to come.

Sorry, typical fanboy me. I try to see the negative, but I just can't.

That's what I mean though ... maybe it is temporary because of the regeneration and because it's happened before, but we won't really know for sure until the next episodes. For the last two Doctors, it seemed like there was a more conclusive statement by the end of the regeneration ep about who the new Doctor was and that he was recovered and ready to go. I didn't quite feel that way from this ep.

That was sad - there were a lot of sad things in this ep - even the bad guys were kinda sad.

You weren't meant to get the ending - something weird is going on with that woman that will unfold over the season. She reminded me of the woman who kept appearing to Amy through Season 6 - not that I think they're the same woman necessarily, but the same sort of creepy/menacing vibe.

Yes, and I think that reaction from Clara would have sat better with me if they hadn't made the previous episode about the Doctor sitting around and growing so old. I didn't really care for that premise in Time of the Doctor, so it rubbed me the wrong way when they kind of glossed over it in this ep.

Completely different subject - what about that comment from the Doctor that his new face looked familiar? I wonder if there's something to that, if we're going to find out that he actually chose this new look, maybe for a reason.

It might just be something in Capaldi's acting. But the way he got so vulnerable with Clara at the end really made me sympathize with the Doctor. He just went through a big change with his body and his mind all being regenerated, and getting used to it all.

Fighting evil robots, he acted like it was just another day at the office. But in that moment at the end when he's trying reach out to the person he cares about most, just to see him, to accept him, and there's almost that fear she won't. It just makes me feel for him so much.

It's obvious that he doesn't want to lose her.

Yep the whole thing with his face cause as we know peter was in the doctor before and in torchwood so they are hinting for that cause that probably why he chose his face cause his seen it before

Dave it will air the same time next week

Just watched it. Good episode. I loved the 2nd halfof the episode better and the ending was good too.

Still adjusting to a new doctor but I do like him. I loved the diner scene with the doctor and Clara too.
