Besides Rose the only other companions I liked were the Ponds. Clara is ok, snarky at times, but she was no amy or rory or Rose.
I'm trying to get into Capaldi, but I just haven't had the time to sit down and marathon ALL of S8 to see if there is something about him I like. __________________

I feel Clara improved in s8. I just couldn't get myself to care much about her in s7. But no, she's no Donna or Amy. Went to a DW con a couple of weeks back, and one of the guests said he thought Capaldi needed a Donna, and no matter how much I think Clara has improved, I think he's right. We need a stronger female companion to match Capaldi's Doctor. Someone to properly put him in his place when he needs it. Clara does it a little bit here and there, but I don't think she does it enough

I really haven;t watched much of S8 beyond the first episode and I only watched that because of Vastra, Jenny, and Strax! LOL!! Love them!! But i can agree that 12 needs a Donna like character. Donna had a knack for putting 10 in his place when he needed it.

One of my fave moments has to be when River slapped Vastra to make her wake up! LAMO! I was like "Damn River!!!" Hahahahah!!

Poor Neve, but she always tells the story with a smile and laugh. She was actually asked about the slap at the con I was at last month, but I can't remember specifically what she said, which really bugs me. I hate how bad my memory is sometimes...
