ok people seem to be going on about Billie's accent and her 'new one' is kind of annoying but she did say she couldnt get the old on back hehe

Except her voice being a bit deeper, it doesn't seem to have changed all that much to me. I don't get what all the fuss is about.

I've always found Billie's accent too posh for Rose, it never really bothered me so it won't now.

Are they saying she sounds more posh? I honestly have no idea because I haven't read anything about this myself but in that preview to the interview with Billie that they had on BBC.co.uk earlier Billie sounded more 'posh' Billie-like. Not that I'm saying that's a bad thing at all

Billie's own accent has definitely become posher over the years, but I don't think she sounds more posh as Rose. Maybe a little bit. Her voice is definitely deeper though, but hey, she has grown up. It's only natural that she wouldn't speak the exact same way that she did when she left, who knows how much time has passed for her. I know I definitely don't speak the same way as I did a couple of years ago, both in tone and accent, it all changes depending on who you hang out with etc.... So why is it suddenly such a big thing when a character's accent/voice changes a bit? it's not like it's supposed to be the very next day

Yes, exactly, Val. Any percieved "flaw" in anyone on this show's acting is made out to be huge in certain segments of fandom, when it's actually tiny

I mean just posher than Rose is meant to be, she did a pretty good job but it still sounded a bit too posh, to be honest I don't think David's is perfect either.

I don't think Rose's accent is posh at all, but I agree that, considering her background, it could've been even less posh

I don't know about David's accent, not being British myself kind of gives me the disadvantage (or maybe advantage in this case? ) that I can't really tell when an accent is slightly off. Only when it's really really bad.
