In the end it all worked out...Chris did great without winning and if Kat hadn't made it to the Top 3 her lovely memorable performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow wouldn't have happened

In August 2013, McPhee indicated in an interview for an upcoming concert that she hoped to see the album released in 2014.

Apparently, she already has an album in the works (or it's done by now) but it's just waiting for release.

That's nice she's at least worked on new music and the album might be done too. Hopefully it won't stay in the backurner for too long and she's able to actually release it at some point.

Yeah me too. I mean if it's done, most of the work is finished, more delays just don't make sense.

It really doesn't make sense but sometimes albums get lost in the hassle in the label (think about Jordin) which sucks.

From a Q&A panel at Comic Con:

During the panel, Katharine admitted that she is excited to get into action as Paige Dineen, a character that is essentially the opposite of her previous role, Karen Cartwright. “I’m playing a character that’s so different from who I played on Smash with all the action elements we have on the show,” she said. “When I read the script, I thought it was so different and fun for me to try. It’s also a more mature character than I’ve ever played before.”

Kat also told attendees that she is still working on music. The cast joked that she is constantly singing between takes, proving that some things never change!

It's going to be interesting to see her in her new role on Scorpion since it's really different from anything she's done before. I'm glad somebody asked her if she's still working on music. It's cute that she sings between takes
