Just came from the Cheesecake factory where I met up wih Michelle of Yonkers,Thanette, D4E, OOTW, Mandy (I forgot to ask her posting name) and
Mandy's nephew, Joseph (?). Everyone looks great! Lots of and I arrived too late to join them for lunch, but just in time to help them finish eating a chocolate mousse cake. :yum:

Grandkids came for a brief time today as Laurie went to a job interview. They will come back tomorrow and spend the night. How they love going to the dollar store! Jess found a frame for an Orcas photo that has a dolphin and starfish on it. Very appropo!

Did a bit of garden work today. I remember when my Mom said "I've put the weeds on the honor system this year." She sold the house the next year and moved to an apartment. Gardening is not as easy as it used to be. I understand her sentence entirely! But am not ready to move from my house. Fortunately, I have a husband to help me. He is currently putting a new railing on our deck. Doing a very nice job, too.

Had a blast at lunch with everyone Thanks for joining us Tek Kerstin (FehrTabascoGirlie), Mandy and her nephew Jeffrey arrived safely and we are getting ready to go around Hollywood Blvd for a nite on the town.

Hey, been busy with building/renovation stuff.

Bought a Sony 42" HDTV w/Dual turners wednesday.

Today, we settled on the dual oven or microwave-convection oven combo.

Switched to a Whirlpool frig with the "Santina" finish on contoured front. Here we saved enough to pay for five year service plans on both the oven and frig. Those extended warranties are something we usually don't buy, but the prices were right at less than $20 per year.

Bought the Bosch stainless steel dishwasher, with black front panel to match other appliances. Very, very quiet and NO exposed heating element in bottom like 99% of the manufactures have these days.
Oh, the GE oven doesn't have an exposed element either; that's partly why we choose it.

New four piece sofa w/lounge is being made in NC and should be ready in a month.

Needless to say our loan went through and we got the lowest rate that's been offered in this area since the Indians settled here, at 5.5%. I know there were better rates offered, but I like to deal with our credit union, people I know and trust. Sometimes that's worth 1% over the length of a loan.

Glad to read that most all are doing great. I will check back in soon, if the chainsaw doesn't get me down. Still have three trees to cut out of way. Four are gone and I used the big old IH and log chain to pull the stumps, so now the back yard also has big holes that kind of look like a mini war zone.

BE the new kitchen sounds great. I'm sure you both will enjoy it. I got a Sony HDTV almost two years ago. I love it. With all of the HD channels that DirecTV is scheduled to add in the next year or so, I may never leave my den/office.

Sounds like everyone is California is having fun. Keep us updated. Enjoy the BAT.

Hi GH, Nosee. We have dish, they have several hd already, but we will have to wait until the new area is built. Don't really have room or do we want to make room for the large tv in our house now. One corner is set aside for that tv in the new kitchen/dinning and lounge area.

Wish we could be at the BAT, also, but . . .

I am also wondering how your Mom is doing?

My Friend has just had her last Chemo, yesterday & is getting ready for the "radiation" in a few weeks time, My Friend "gueesed" with all the treatments, ect that are being done, will finally be over in the middle of October.:hurrray:
