Roswell Music Discussion Thread #3
Hey all
I couldn't find our old thread, it probably got lost. So anyway, this thread is to discuss the music that we heard on Roswell, both when it originally aired and on the DVDs. So if you need help identifying a song from a scene in a Roswell episode, feel free to post it here. THREAD RULES 1. Please note that illegal music file sharing is not allowed on this thread, or anywhere on Fan Forum. 2. Keep all requests Roswell-related. (Example Roswell-related request: "I'm requesting "Idol" by Amanda Ghost" featured in 202"). 3. The main purpose of this thread is for music discussion and discovery. When recommending, please try to post a link to the artists' myspace and website. 4. Have fun! There's no limit to the greatness of music. I was able to find the two threads that didn't get lost, so here they are: Thread #1 Thread #2 Happy posting! __________________

I have been looking everywhere for this. The music is instrumental and everyone has heard it if they have seen Roswell season 2 on DVD. It's that instumental music playing in the begining of all the disc before you click on eposides. It is this guitary type of music and the music is also played in the eposide "Harvest when Liz and Max are talking. Can anyone help me find it or can tell me who the composer is? Pleaseee

Hi LatehMocha!
The music playing on the menu screen of the Season Two DVDs has been identified as background score music written for Roswell by Joseph Stanley Williams. The music also plays in the episode Harvest, as Max talks to Liz on the streets of Copper Summit (about sleeping with Kyle). The music also plays in other Romeo and Juliet moments between Max and Liz in other episodes. Joseph Stanley Williams says that it was never a full song. The nylon guitar in the menu and other scenes was performed by his friend Greg Arreguin, who died a few years ago. (Greg worked on many shows and projects. All of the guitar work on all 3 seasons of Roswell was Greg Arrequin. You can find more of Greg's music by googling his name.) The other instruments in that music and all other score pieces were performed by Joseph Stanley Williams in his studio in Ventura, California. ---thanks go to Becca4, on Media*Blvd message board, for the information from email correspondence with Joseph Stanley Williams last summer ____________________________________ |

Thanks. So since it wasn't a full song there is no way of getting it, huh? Thats a bummer because it is such a great score!

Oh how I loved the music that was on Roswell. I discovered Better than Ezra when they played Closer at the end of Control |

Dutch Roswell?
Anyone know if Dutch Roswell will be open again online. I was making a Roswell music site but since I saw that Dutch Roswell had the music covered. I stopped. If the site won't be online again, I'll begin to put mine online. Anyone know what's going on?

I don't know when Dutch Roswell's home page will open. The Dutch Roswell song listings by episodes are still working here (Additional TV and DVD songs have been identified, which aren't yet listed there.) The great thing about your site is that it's easy to scroll through all episodes in a season at a glance! The great thing about Dutch Roswell's site are all the beautiful pictures and things! I love both sites!!! Thank you so much PHMustang2000 for the clips you had of songs and all the work you've done! All the best to you, whatever you decide! ___________________________________________________ |

Babble1 over at MB has posted a link for the archive of roswell.na.nu here. The mp3 links don't work, but all the info is still intact
I'm too lazy to create my own site with all the details of DVD music changes found so far, but I've used my LJ to post a list of links to sites where you can find legit (free + legal) Roswell MP3s here. So far I've got links up for about 50 tracks, mostly DVD tracks ID'd by myself or others on various Roswell boards. |

Season 2: Meet The Dupes
Song identified for Season Two episode: Meet The Dupes
Hi to all the Roswell fans out there. I really wish they'd bring the show back with new episodes, especially considering all the crap that's on tv. Why do Studio Execs love crappy shows? Are they cheaper to produce? Anyway, I'm getting off track. I'm happy to say that this time I can add to the list of identified songs as opposed to just asking if anyone else has found songs or groups... okay, here it is - The song on the DVD version that replaces (I believe) F.O.S. - Lovely (When the Dupes first enter Roswell at night and Valenti pulls them over) is Hypnogaja - Need to Believe. I don't know if anyone else has identified this one because I don't have enough time to go through all the postings. Have a safe and fun 4th of July!!!!
