On one level I am curious because I really do love Roswell. But then on the other end of things, I want it to fail BIG TIME. Or not make it to the air... I fear if it does, it might succeed just because in this environment it be different from other shows, and the soapy nature might hit because Vampire Diaries and Originals will be gone...

Just the idea of another Max and Liz... Ick!

Jason and Shiri made magic. You can't replace it.

Other on the same level, our Roswell will still be in our hearts. This is a not a replica, so it will be very different.

Do not watch or give this NEW show ratings! Yes I know you are curious to see what the buzz is all about. In that case tape it.

Do NOT watch it the night it aires!

Do NOT watch it and give the show ratings! That is all the CW (WB) cares about are ratings! No no no! Ture real Roswell fans are smarter that that and know the truth to this reboot!

Let show the CW (WB) that there is only one true Roswell! Personally it is a slap in the face to all die hard beloved original fans who fought get get 3 seasons of our show and the last season on a different network! Lets show the CW (WB) that there is only one Roswell!

Looks like this Dollar Store production of Roswell aka NEW show has begun.

Reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, Liz Ortecho (Mason), a jaded biomedical researcher and the daughter of undocumented immigrants, is haunted by a tragic incident. She discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.

Parsons will play Max, a natural born leader and dedicated Roswell police officer, Max has kept a secret for years, concealing his origin and unearthly abilities. Cowles will portray Isobel, polished and restrained, Isobel wasn’t meant for small-town life, but she lives it with all the grace and enthusiasm she can muster in order to keep her true origins a secret. Vlamis is Michael. Troubled but brilliant, Michael survived a violent childhood and is now secretly driven to find a way to escape Earth and the humans who have failed him, to return to a mysterious home he’s never known.

Blackburn is Sgt. Alex Manes. Returning home from the Middle East after experiencing his fair share of psychological and physical trauma, Alex aims to adhere to his father’s expectations, abandoning his dreams and the possibility of a future with the man he loves. Hemmens will play Maria, Liz’s fun, free-spirited former best friend and social media maven, Maria is oblivious to the realities of Roswell.

Parsons, who was a series regular on the final season of HBO’s True Blood, most recently booked a recurring role on ABC’s Once Upon A Time, and he can be seen as the lead role in the indie Western Justice directed by Richard Gabai. He’s repped by Creative Partners Group & Innovative Artists.
Cowles recurred as Germaine Healy on BrainDead. She’s repped by Industry Entertainment.
Vlamis appeared on New Girl and Simi Valley. He’s repped by CAA and Grandview.
Blackburn starred as Caleb Rivers on Pretty Little Liars and recurred on Ravenswood. He’s repped by Gersh.
Hemmens stars on Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong for OWN, and can be seen next on the Paramount TV series Yellowstone. She previously was a series regular on Hellcats for CW. She’s repped by APA and Primary Wave Entertainment.

Nathan Parsons another Bun Heads cast member! He worked with Jeanine Mason in the show.

Sorry but Nathan and Jeanine will never be Max and Liz to me.

No one can come close to the gorgeous looks or talent of Jason Behr!

Shiri was Liz Parker!

Majandra and Brendan as Michael and Maria all the way! I don't see this Michael and Maria having the same sweet banter.

Oh and Alex don't get me started on Alex.

I don't see this new cast at all!

Nothing against the actors. (Remember no bashing the actors). Most of the cast are unknowns.

But I can't as I am sure you all agree see them as our beloved Roswell cast!

Our cast had the looks but more important the brilliant talent! That is why our Roswell is classic!

They have cast their "Kyle Valenti" with a alumni of Vampire Diaries... Michael Trevino who played Tyler Lockwood on the Vampire Diaries...

So now we have to wait to hear the buzz about the filmed pilot, and whether it will make the schedule. I have a bad feeling that it will make the schedule with no Vampire Diaries type show on the air. It will be different enough from "Charmed". And with Sunday now opened up for slots, we shall see...

I love Michael Trevino but still this situation feels strange.

So everyone is keeping the name except Liz, although in reality they are being faithful to the books, right?

Alex name they changed he is no longer Whitman. He is now Alex Manes.

I read the Roswell High books and the names might be the same but the over all plot is SO different. Our show was the clostest to the books.

No hype what so ever on the Reboot aka NEW show. On IMDB it is listed as a TV movie.

So I have no idea how they could do this show if they are involved with other projects.

If they out the show on a Sunday that is a good thing. Most Sunday and Friday night shows have low ratings because people are out or away.

Well casting for pilots are not confirmed for series until the show gets picked up. You see a rash of recasting once a show is picked. Otherwise, if you have other projects. Roswell either gets a secondary postion if the your original show doesn't continue, or depending on the project... you get allowance to continue on with Roswell...

Movies won't be a problem since they will likely shoot before Roswell goes into production. TV shows are more problematic...

But I doubt Janine Mason (their Liz) who is on Grey's Anatomy but as a new intern, so she can quickly be released from the show if Roswell is picked up. She probably only has a recurring contract...

I am not as familiar with the books. I just knew Liz's name was different from source material to our version of the show. Wonder why they changed Alex's name for the our show.

IF Roswell is picked up. I would assume they would put it on one of the weekday nights. And move something like Jane or Crazy Ex-Girlfriend or one of the really lower rated shows to Sundays. They will want Roswell to hit. And weekday viewing is always higher...

But they have so many superhero shows. But they might play around, or move it to mid season like they are doing with some new shows this year...

Time will tell!

They have just announced Originals is having a Sequel based on Hope with some cast members staying on... So that will be in competition with Roswell and Charmed in the "Magical Powers" division timeslots if they are any good!

Yeah we still have to see if they gets picked up, but the probabilities are high I think.

It likely will be a very different breed from "Girl Power" with Charmed (assuming that goes to series), and "Originals" is a different show too.

A soapy alien drama about forbidden love, secrets, real life immigration challenges might bring viewers. As I have always said our Roswell existed in the wrong time...

It was very before it's time. Now in the era of superhero's and other supernatural... It would fit right in.

But even with opening up Sunday's. CW still doesn't have many slots. Assuming some of the newer shows, like Life Sentence with Lucy Hale catches on or something else... And they are keeping around stuff that is critically acclaimed like Jane, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. So who knows what will happen...

So I am curious to read the buzz when the pilot is complete... The new schedule will be announced in mid-May.

Originals probably has the bigger leg out, since it will be coming from a established show... So we shall see... Before I heard about Originals, I thought the odds were high of Roswell... Now the odds have dimmed slightly in my view.

I can tell by looking at pictures of these two actors that they will never have the chemistry of our Max & Liz. Best of luck to them, though!
