There was only ONE way to get it back, and it was that everything was a mind-warp, but he was stubborn and the show suffered accordingly.

Liz loves to be in the top ;-)
also Max love it :sigh:

As much as every fan would have wanted to make it a mind-warp or if Tess was pregnant, and the baby was human... to say Max wasn't father. I can see why they let it stand. It was consequences for both Max and Liz, and angst. If they made it a mind-warp. A reunion would have been too easy. They ran back to each other after "Departure", to make it all a mind-warp would be trying to wipe it all away.

Liz started in End of the World, with the creation of the new timeline. So in some way, she gets what she sows. If you start a new timeline, you have live with the results. If you try to push Max at Tess, you have to deal if he actually does go with her.... And Max has to deal with the consequences of being fooled by someone who betrayed ALL of them, and was a traitor in the midst. And sex sometimes does lead to a baby.

Making it a mindwarp or say someone like Kyle was trying the father would have been easy. And in some ways, I wish it had happened. But I think they wanted them to live with the results of Season 2. The results of their actions. And it also was angst, hanging over their heads so that their reunion wasn't easy... They were now seniors, about to graduate. They were no longer 16. They had to live with what they have done. And it's not always easy at the end of the day. Choices have consequences.

Loking back now I can't think of a better opener. it was full of action, romance, and suspense.
Busted definitely is a gotcha episode. It's fun. Seeing the Bonnie and Clyde-esque of Max and Liz. If only they could have made into a two parter, so you could fully deal with the ramifications of Season 2. But given they were on a new network, and trying to entice fans or new fans. And trying new techniques, I loved it. We saw Michael realizing what picking Earth meant, and trying his hardest to graduate but finding obstacles. And how it meant for him and Maria...

azure angel 01-07-2018 10:43 AM

Then they must have handled it better, the flashbacks in busted were meh.

Damocles 01-07-2018 02:39 PM

I still don't love Busted, but I've come to terms with it  I mean to me, it could have been worse. I just felt like I was watching a different show, for a little bit.

azure angel 01-07-2018 03:04 PM

Max and Liz started being themselves from ch-ch-chantes imo

Amaranto 01-07-2018 05:57 PM

Although I have my problems with s3, I know I am very grateful for graduation.

We got fortunate. They were able to accomplish a lot in a hour, and we got a epic proposal and then a small piece of their wedding day. Given how "Destiny" finished, and the unfinished quality of "Departure" at least they knew to craft a ending with snippets able to picked if they did get a miracle new chance.

The proposal was epic! Max wanted Liz with him.

Amaranto 01-08-2018 03:12 PM

 we did at the end, just look at the pilot and graduation - great poetry.

and lovely pic :sigh:

Damocles 01-08-2018 05:29 PM

I do love the finale, and I love the happy ending and that it was a cliffhanger that made us go "what happens next?" in an anguishing way

Amaranto 01-08-2018 05:52 PM

Oh yes, I would have loved to follow their lives after roswell.

Roswell 10/2/00 01-08-2018 10:28 PM

It would of been cool to have seen a 5 year later clip to know they really were safe. But over all I do love the ending and voice over. We know Liz is happy!

& this was all that I cared about to be honest.

Jasper1975 01-09-2018 07:48 AM

I liked that both of them got their dreams. Liz was happy. But so was Max, and he was able to achieve something he had dreamt from third grade on. I just wish we could have seen the fallout from the graduation ceremony... And their life on the road...

But we knew they were happy, and that mattered. Maria and Michael were together. Kyle would be happier away from that crummy job. Just wished they didn't have to leave their families and Roswell to get it..

But at least it happy ending, and we got lucky!

Roswell 10/2/00 01-09-2018 12:09 PM

I agree at least we knew they were happy.

I think in the future Isabel and Jessie would of found each other again. Kyle I think was happier not being in the dead end job and would find his way to inner peace weather he was dating someone or stayed single.

I wish the group didn't have to leave their parents and family. I think Kyle would of found a way to let his Dad know he was safe.

Jasper1975 01-09-2018 01:12 PM

I actually think Isabel and Kyle would have found each other. Both on the road. Things were still too tense between Isabel and Jesse to think they could have made it work. Of course it was all so new, him knowing, when they were forced to flee. And then she vanishes. He relocates, I just don't see them lasting...

Now they laid enough hints that Kyle might be the one for Isabel. I think Isabel wanted to settle down because of losing Alex, and she ran into something with Jesse. But then I could also see her trying again with Jesse, assuming they didn't stay gone that long... But I was always partial to the idea of Isabel and Kyle.

I think Kyle let Jim know tidbits... Until he was back as Sheriff (Hanson wouldn't last), he would probably be a ally they could get word to every once in a while...

Amaranto 01-09-2018 04:44 PM

Kyle and Isabel? that would be interesting.

Why the reboot could not be about this? I mean - roswell the new generation and with flashbacks to our heroes. * sigh *

The only way I would be more grateful for that last shot of Liz is if there was a new show with the gang traveling around doing good!

azure angel 01-10-2018 03:55 AM

I think that shoot was perfect  even if JK used to forget, the show was from her POV.

Roswell 10/2/00 01-10-2018 06:44 AM

Loved the voice over at the end everything came full circle.

azure angel 01-10-2018 07:14 AM

^^^^^^^ I agree :sigh:

Amaranto 01-10-2018 03:21 PM

 it was very emotional :bawl:

Damocles 01-10-2018 05:13 PM
