Well he was home for a day, as he'd been working away from home, and over the weekend. So we went shopping, I've recently got myself a smart phone, so we needed to change my SIM to fit the new phone. I bought the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, but I've not watched it yet. He was back to work for the other days, but locally this time, and the kids went with him on Friday to earn some money too.

Doing jobs for their grandparents mostly. They washed cars the other day.

I've been good, thanks. Had birthday cake for mom Saturday afternoon. It was nice to catch up with some of my nieces and nephews. Mom's birthday is on Thursday, so I'll be taking her out for lunch on that day.

Claire - Sounds like you've been busy. It's good for kids to earn a bit of money of their own.

I love cake! I hope your mum has a good birthday.

My kids made a pumpkin cheesecake today. It didn't turn out too bad. It needed pumpkin spice but I couldn't find it, not sure if it was in the shop. Even so it was nice.

oh, sounds good! It's nice to try different things.

Just got back from getting my hair cut. I let it get far too long. About to go pick up mom for lunch.

I was getting my hair cut yesterday, but the salon closed unexpectedly. I'll have to re-book it next week. I haven't had it cut for along time as well.

Went to the dentist today for a check-up. Everything was fine which was good news.

Yikes! I hope you're able to get a convenient appointment.

Had leftover night for supper and did a good job cleaning out the fridge.

I won't be getting an appointment, I found out yesterday my hairdresser was killed in a road accident. I was really upset about it, I've known him for about 15 years.


for cleaning the fridge. That's the kind of job I never get around to.

Thanks Chris! Yes it was a real shock. We used to talk about his family, and my family, too. It's like losing a friend.

I know exactly what you mean. Even though it's not really a personal relationship, it goes beyond just being a client.
