The trailer makes it look like a generic supernatural drama, but it's actually more of a college comedy where the fraternities/sororities are a murderous coven of magicians and a boozy pack of werewolves. The first season is shaky IMO, but I think it has potential if it embraces the humour.

I haven't seen Scream Queens but judging by its trailer, yeah, kinda. The Order weirdly oscillates in tone between seriousness and humour, as if it can't decide what kind of show it wants to be. One minute it will play a tense moment completely straight, the next something goofy like this will happen:

The show is at its best when it's having tongue-in-cheek, almost campy, fun. Just committing to the weird side of it, like Doom Patrol and Umbrella Academy do, would be a big improvement.

Wouldn't hurt to keep your expectations low. It takes a few episodes to get going, and the main romance is the kind of forced teen schlock typical of a CW show. Characters and subplots have a tendency to get introduced and forgotten at a drop of a hat, but there are some decent performances, Max Martini and Katharine Isabelle in particular.
