Man Buys Full-Page Newspaper Ad Asking Wife To Come Back

Posted: 2:20 pm CST January 26, 2005

Jacksonville, Fla. -- An Orlando, Fla., husband took out a full-page newspaper ad to ask his wife to come back.

Larry, who didn't give his last name, spent $17,000 on an ad that appeared in Tuesday's edition of The Florida Times-Union.

In the ad, Larry wrote he's "desperately trying" to save his marriage with wife Marianne of 17 years.

Larry lives in Orlando. His wife is staying with her parents near Jacksonville. The parents blocked him from getting inside their gated community and Marianne changed her cell phone number so he can't get in touch with her.

A relative told Larry that Marianne saw the advertisement. And so did other readers of the paper. Display advertising director Jay Weimar said readers have contacted the paper asking if the wife has responded and if the two have worked things out.

His response is that they're pulling for him.

Heh, yeah, probably.. Women would love to see a man willing to get down on his knees and shell out $17,000 to beg her to come back

I wonder if she'll accept it? It certainly shows he's willing to make amends, especially by doing something that public. I wonder why they split up anyway, after 17 years ...

Did someone really attempt to do that, or are you just being sarcastic?

Oh its true. There have been news reports that he's getting lots of love letters from women who want to marry him. I can't understand the appeal of wanting to be with a man that'd kill you. Some women seem to have a fixation with men that have been locked up for murder. Remember this?

Quote:
Lyle Menendez, who was convicted with his brother for the shotgun slayings of their parents, got married Thursday at Mule Creek State Prison near Sacramento.

Menendez, 35, and the bride, identified as 33-year-old Rebecca Sneed of Sacramento, exchanged vows in a prison-approved ceremony, KXTV-TV in Sacramento reported. About a dozen friends and family members bore witness in a maximum security visiting area.

And seriously now, what possibly could be more romantic than that?

That is just insane, Tokyo. What the hell do they expect? If they ended up dead in the news one day, I doubt I'd be able to feel much sympathy. Well, maybe if they were that severely naive, I'd pity them, but ... Who marries a murderer?
