^ Yeah, it's when a story comes out about the most painless way to die, or whatever. I always think "what did you do, run a survey of everyone who's died this year and asked them about their experience?"
Anyway... There are so many scenarios in which I would think a person of sound mind might prefer to die. I do think it behooves us to legislate ways in which a person might express their wishes in that regard. To me, it should take care of all those possibilities where there's ambiguity. People who have strong feels for or against could express their wishes and that would be that. It's a bit like organ donation. People who want to can sign their driver's licence (or, here, their Medicare card) and tell their families. God forbid something happens to them, people know what they would want. The same can happen for end-of-life care. __________________
