Engaged & Underage (premieres Monday, January 22 on MTV)

"Engaged & Underage", a half-hour documentary series, will follow young couples between the ages of 18 and 21, during the final weeks of their engagement, leading up to and including the big day. In addition to showing the drama, the tension, and the humor inherent in the days before a big event, "Engaged & Underage" will also portray a young couple as they take their first steps towards adulthood, and begin to define themselves as people outside the confines of their parents and home life. "Engaged & Underage" will have 8 episodes and is currently scheduled to premiere during Winter 2007.

i saw bits and pieces of the premiere tonight, it sucks that it's on the same time that Heroes is.

the couple tonight was interesting. i'm almost positive that the boy in about a year is going to come out of the closet .

i'm sure it'll be back on a million more times so i can actually watch the whole episode.

Oh good, I'm not the only evil person who thought this! The couple were interesting but the guy's relationship with his mom was way creepy. But then again, I couldn't in my wildest dreams imagine having that type of a close relationship with my parents.

The couple next week look ... interesting. And yelly.

I thought he was sort of gay also But somehow I dont think he is

I found his relationship with his mom too close. There is a fine line between personal and too personal and his relationship with his mother is on the far side of the too personal range.

I saw people on another board saying the same thing about David being gay too. I didn't get it but it might be true.

This show was awesome on so many levels. I don't get the title though. They were both 21, right? Not anywhere near underage. I felt sorry for Lauren because her family wasn't at all involved in planning the wedding and she barely knew anyone at her shower.

What was wrong with her brother? "I had to go surfing!" and be very late for the rehearsal dinner. Inconsiderate ass.

I don't even want to go into the relationship between David and his mom. Time to let go, lady.

Yah, they were both 21. The couple next week don't look particcularly young either.

I felt sorry for Lauren too, especially when she didn't know anyone at her shower. That's got to be weird. And yah, her brother was so inconsiderate. He had a big scowl on his face during the actual wedding too. Nice.

Yeah, 21 is still pretty young to be getting married but I was only 22 when I got married so I can't really talk. I hope that we were more mature than this couple seems though.

I didn't notice her brother's scowl during the wedding. Why did he even bother to show up?

I knew you back then and you were definitely more mature than these guys seemed. Of course, maybe I'm so immature that in comparison, you seemed a lot more mature than you really were.

Good to know.

I saw their MySpaces linked somewhere and they really don't seem as bad as the show made them out to be. I'm sure that's true for most reality people but it's still fun to mock them.

The couple this week was not enjoyable to watch at all. I'm actually surprised they passed the church's compatibility test.

I hope they have less yelly couples in the future.

The title is completely wrong. In some states, 18 is the 'age of adulthood', so calling 18-year-olds 'underage' is inaccurate.

That said, the premise itself sounds interesting. Don't have MTV, or I might tune in.

I feel like I might have to catch reruns of this this weekend or something - it sounds interesting. If only because I can't imagine getting married back when I was 18 or 20, you know? I can't imagine getting married, like, right now. So, it intrigues me, some.
