hey did u guys hear what Joss "The Man" Whedon said about how he really wanted to end buffy?!?!? here's the skinny:

' He said that he was going to bring back Tara in the 3rd to last episode of Buffy, but contractual obligations fell through. The idea he had was that Buffy would be granted one world altering wish (with no consequences), and the episode would revolve around her thinking about how to use it (bring back her mom? Angel? etc). He said that the last scene would be Buffy going to Willow and showing her the great new shoes that she wanted so much, and now she has them. Willow would look at her, and say, "You used your wish on shoes?" Buffy would have said, "No, silly", and leave. Willow would turn around and there would be Tara. '

I heard that and I've been thinking about it for days. It would have been cool, but it sounds a little bit like fan fiction to me. That doesn't mean it wouldn't have been cool though.

Honestly, as nice as it would have been, it just doesn't sound very "buffylike" to me. We'd seen on more than one occasion that Wishes = Bad. And then, considering that Buffy was torn from Heaven, would she really have done the same to Tara?
There's just something about it that's rubbing me the wrong way.

I agree. It doesn't seem realistic enough. Of all of the couples on Buffy I probobly want Willow and Tara to work the most, but I understand why they didn't. I wish they would have though.

well im all for a w/t reunion and very much wanted Amber back in s7, i remember being bummed when i heard she wasn't gonna be.
but like i said, the wish thing, it just doesnt sound right.
personally i would have rathered that Tara came back because TPTB decided to fix something that shouldn't have happened (her dying), or that Tara herself gave up heaven to be with Willow, or that she went through a bunch of tests and was rewarded her love. To me that would have shown how powerful their love was, how much they were meant to be together, not because Buffy decided to do Willow a favor, I would have felt cheapened, I think.
