I did notice that and I agree with that. And Spike also became darker in season six when Buffy became darker. With no conscience, it is up to human behavior for him to mimic and the scoobies weren't always the best role models.

Very true. I really like that that said and I agree with it. He does as he sees. And if you treat him like crap well he's going to do the same. I mean isn't that the golden rule anyway? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?

I wonder if Tara and Willow and Dawn hadn't of acted so warm around him if he would have been less inclined to love Buffy.

Well considering he only really had his mom and then once she was turned she treated him horribly and then Cecily treated him like dirt and I think he always knew Dru was also Angelus' so yes I think it is hard for him to believe.
I think Dawn was the first person to show him that kind of innocent affection.__________________
