They've been frinds for a long time. Since they started working at the WB. I'm not sure if they were friends before that. I do know that they're really close and Shannen was on Sarah's wedding.

Shannon didn't want to kill the show! She just wanted out because she was always having fights with Alyssa and sometimes with Holly (who was her friend before Charmed). They didn't let her quit and things got worse and eventually they fired her.
And why wouldn't they be friendly? They never fought or sth like that. Shannon even said that Rose was a good replacement.
