I needed a lot more though just Spuffy scenes in general of them having to work together.

Nothing needs to happen between them yet but it would have gave more buildup to Spike realizing his feelings too.

So many shipped Spuffy from the start even with them as mortal enemies.

The first fanfics were during Season 2 but Season 4 Spuffy was huge online.

Joss knew what fans were talking about in Fandom.

James even said Something Blue was testing the general viewers & Joss was planning Spuffy b/c there was a call for them.

The audience "awww"ed and cheered when he said that too, so there was SB support being shown.

He also answered it unprompted (as in usually he gets asked about SB, but he brought them up on his own).
