Not so much on btvs imo, but just the way that she had directed so much anger at him in s1 of Angel....I think that really stuck with him. I think on some level he really did feel like he was to blame for what had happened to her & he probably felt guilt for that too. It really adds another layer to their partnership in s4.

I wrote a fic a long time about that was Spuffy with Cangel and Faith/Wes getting together.
