S5 was bs with how they threw Riley under the bus. Before he left I still thought they had a great relationship, and that episode where Riley was dying because his body was giving out was what really showed Buffy loved him IMO. Like I said, at least Riley and Buffy had closure. The way some couples ended or things that occurred, it could of been worse lol.

Yeah, it was good to have him back and their chemistry still on fire.


Yeah, what they did to Riley in S5 was like...so out of left field.

I still love that when Riley returned Buffy wanted him to kiss her and still had feelings for him. I'm also glad what he said about her being a hell of a woman and how much he respects her was the last push she needed to end her toxic and abusive thing with Spike. Even though I do believe Buffy loved Riley, she did seem to take him for granted before he left the show. So she deserved a little kick in the gut IMO lol.

Oh, for sure. We did see that he sometimes was more into her. And, sure, she had a lot of things going on with being the slayer and Dawn and her mom.

But, yeah, she deserved a little reality check.

Even though they have some cute moments in S5, I'll always prefer their relationship in S4 obviously. I loved seeing Buffy be so happy and a giddy girlfriend while with Riley lol.

Me too, it was so refreshing to see Buffy in a relationship like that where she could just be happy & enjoy the experience of falling in love with someone
