Season 4 was easily the best for them and surprising since I assume a lot of fans didn't think they would make it to the end of the season.

Yeah, I'm glad they made it through all the hurdles they faced in s4 - just a shame that the writers changed their approach to the relationship in season 5

This might be a shocker to everyone (since I am a Spuffy shipper) but Buffy best FIRST TIME having sex with anyone to me is Riley. The reason is because her first two sexual experiences got ruined by the aftermath. Buffy could not be in bliss after Angel because he was Angelus after and she was more guilty for what she did. With Parker, he was a user who was just waiting for her to give it up and when she did, he treated her like trash. With Angel and Parker she thought she wasn’t good or she was at fault. With Spike, she felt good in the moment but she hated herself.

With Riley, he was so special because they made love and she woke up the next morning to see him by her side. that is probably one of my favorite Buffy and Riley scenes when she woke up and he was right there! You can see how relieved she was and how she probably assumed that taking things to the next level with Riley would end up terrible for her.

I agree, I always loved when Buffy woke up Riley was right there. He instantly put that insecurity to bed, in more ways than one lol.

I love that too, it was sad that she expected him to be gone when she woke up, but nope, he was still right there & things between them were better than ever

Yep, easily top 3 moment between them and romance wise it ranks up there as my top 3 for Buffy...

lol At their heads exploding. Riley and Buffy made a great team when they fought The Gentlemen together. One of my favorite fights on the show.
