Great question, I think I preferred watching the friends-lovers transition... only because although I didn't ship Jack/Renee that much romantically, I really enjoyed their interaction... strangely.

With Jack/Kate, good transition, but I didn't really enjoy them all that much... probably cause we didn't get to see them?
Jack/Teri, I never formed a opinion of them, I didn't hate them or like them, but was rooting for them to reunite throughout the whole Season 1.

Jack/Audrey, I didn't care for them until Season 6.....

So everyone pair is different for me.

I think I agree with you, except Jack/Kate who I liked a lot. I have to say, you're 100% on the money about Jack/Audrey. Never cared for them until S6. I thought, considering she barely said a word, Kim Raver's acting was simply extraordinary. She deserved an award for that imo. Fantastic.

Her acting was fantastic in S6, I agree. I felt really sad for her.
I probably would've grew to like Jack/Kate if there was a storyline like that with them.

Well I guess this is why we are going back in time on what we wish would've happened.

I think angst could've made me ship them if that happened during S3, angst to development and move along the relationship.

It's probably forgotten.

That's why I'd be shocked if it ever went back to this relationship, or it was even mentioned. It seems Teri, Audrey and probably now Renee are the only three he had a relationship with. lol
I think for sure that Marilyn relationship is forgotten, with how much the writers want to pretend that season never happened.

It would be nice[surprising] for a mention of their relationship.

I don't think the powers have forgotten the relationship but there's no way it'll ever be referenced let alone developed further, sadly.
