The Good Wife Spoiler Free thread #1 - Spoiler free is the way to be!

Spoiler can be very misleading and also be very disappointing. This thread is for those who don't want to know anything befor hand.

What does consider a ?

Spoilers:
• No spoilers about any new or current television shows are allowed on the television show forums, and they should only be posted on the Spoilers Forum. Information is considered to be a spoiler if it details something that has not yet been broadcast anywhere in the world. Promos that have already aired, clips (up to one minute) hosted on the TV Channel Website, episode stills released by the network, and small episode descriptions are not considered to be spoilers.
• Do not post any unauthorized direct script excerpts on the Spoilers Forum.
• Do not link to other Spoiler message boards.
• Spoilers are allowed on the Male and Female Celebrity Forums as long as the spoilers are limited to information about the character that the actor or actress is playing on the television show that they’re on, and they’re not about the overall show. Spoilers on these forums should only be posted to discuss the upcoming work of the actor or actress, and they must be posted in separate topics and be clearly identified with the word Spoiler in the title.
• Spoiler threads for upcoming movies are permitted on the Movies forum or on forums that are devoted to a movie franchise, as long as they're clearly identified with the word Spoiler in the title. Spoilers should not be discussed on the general threads on these forums.

The rungs of spoiler freeness:

It is unique to every member. A "spoiler" is something different for everyone, and it is up to you to decide what rung on our ladder of spoiler freedom you want to stand on!

Ultra-Spoiler Free (Rung #0) Includes those who avoid any and all information about upcoming episodes, regardless of whether it has been made public or not. Those on this rung of the ladder believe that the series is best enjoyed with no promotional materials giving away bits and pieces of the plot.

Spoiler Free (Rung #1)
are those who think spoilers are any posted non-public information- meaning, anything behind-the-scenes, from unofficial sources, and/or rumored. Those of you on this step of the ladder do not consider WB Official Summaries to be spoilers. WB Summaries (which have a tendency to incorrectly emphasize many points/plots) are official releases by the WB about the episodes. These are usually found on the official WB website or in TV guide. This information is public, so many do not consider it a spoiler.

Spoiler-lite (Rung #2) are those who consider casting notices and releases (which sometimes hint at plot or character turns) and location information (which may also hint at plot), as "OK." They may look at pictures or other information.

And for those of you who are recovering spoiler addicts:

The 11 Steps of Spoiler Recovery:

1. Admit that we were powerless over wanting to know more about an upcoming episode.

2. Come to believe that the skills of a fabulous writer should not be compromised by having every plot twist anticipated.

3. Make a searching and fearless inventory of past episodes.

4. Admit to ourselves and another The Good Wife fanatic the nature of our wrongs.

5. Be entirely ready to face an episode spoiler-free.

6. Humbly ask others to avoid tempting us.

7. Make a list of all those we have offended by accidentally revealing a spoiler for an upcoming episode.

8. Make such amends to those we have offended.

9. Continue to take an episode inventory and when we notice a plot that was different from a spoiler or speculation, promptly admit it.

10. Seek the power to remain without prior knowledge of the next new episode.

11. Will have an awakening as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to spoiler-aholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Good Luck! So far, I am very spoiler hungry. Maybe in the future, that will change. Once the show starts.

I use to live for spoiler back in Season 4 and 5 from Gilmore Girls. But in season 6 I got disappointed everytime after watching a promo

I decided to go spoiler free and one of those spoiler free freaks that didn't watch/read a thing Now I can stay spoiler free for some shows and some I still read spoilers and sometimes I watch promos.

Care to share a thing or two that disappointed you in S6?

I wanna know... cause I was behind back then because of school. So I didn't experience any of the online stuff.

It was just the way they presented the promos. It gave you the wrong idea about scenes and the episode in general.

well officially promos released by networks aren't spoilers, how do you stay away from theM? I'm sure they're mentioned a lot in discussion threads of couples or characters.

They are if you don't want to see them. You just don't watch.
You can avoid certain threads until you've seen the episode.

The promos shown on TV are easy to avoid because they don't air here. On the net you can decide for yourself to watch or not.

If you WANT to be spoiler free you can. It just take some effort sometimes

avoiding threads sounds difficult I think, especially if a promo is worth talking about.

I admire you for doing it though

Thanks!

It's never easy, but it's better than being irritated because the stuff they air before an episode is misleading.

They are irritating. I think they hinted three times to Rory/Logan eloping in season 6.

Right! It spoiled my fun of watching the show (well not the Rory/Logan thing)

But we'll see if I stay spoiler free for this show. For now I want to know a little about the show and that is why I am watching the promos. When the show starts I think I'll stop doing that, but who knows
