So watched the BSG pilot! :thud: How I wanted a good sci-fi... OMG! This show is sort of perfect. Also, spaceships... I'M SOLD! ;)

Loving the characters. I WANT MORE!

Tea Party?
I could care less about her politics or her squealing that Obama is a communist who appointed "tsars" (obviously she doesn't know the whole story about the communist thingy :lmao:) but the constant hatred and stupidity... she's a less funny version of Ann Coulter.

And this one reaaaally takes the cake

Oh no, I know they exist. But they are constantly bringing those characters up, I'm sick of them.
Well, you can't talk about the media circus about Wiener without bringing bimbos up. And I think the customer in the shop was there to give some depth to Lisa. Lisa was presented as not especially educated and maybe with Jim being a little out of her league in the first episodes so given the context, they wanted to present her as a working girl with opinions. Just because she doesn't know a lot about the Greek debt crisis doesn't mean she's an idiot. The vapidity of her customer was a contrasting point to her personality.
And in a way the Wiener bimbo was doing the same: she was bent on getting fame and money out of something that had no importance, just to use the media frenzy and Lisa didn't want any part of it even if she had more "legitimate" apparent ways to get in.

Baltar is so interesting! Except season four is kind of boring for him, that whole cult thing was too much for me and he didn't get to do anything very interesting until the finale.
I can't remember much about S4 because S3 almost did me in and I waited a while to see S4 but yeah Baltar was one of the many many things that turned me off at the end.

Quote:

Boomer being a cylon was so amazing! And the suicide attempt!
Well it gave them a lot of depth as to where they wanted to go. Sadly they failed to explore it after S2 (same with Caprica 6) and turned to the cylons only for quick plot twists.

I think that they lost me not with the soap love quadrangles or the inconsistencies but mostly with the plot holes linked to the Cylons. They conveniently never defined anything or even attempted to because it made twists and shockers easier for them but lamer for me. And I'm not talking about the fact that Six's spine glows in the dark when she has sex with Baltar in the mini but conveniently there's no way to tell who's a Cylon :look: (wait... the glo-in-the-dark spine is not medically detectable? :lmao:) but that's the general idea of it. Leoben was suffering from the magnetic whatever in the mini but Cylons are just like humans for everything? Nah.
Or they can upload/download their consciousness but there's not a single mechanical part to them? They can have babies and all... makes no sense.
I'm not a fan of scifi used as a way to just do anything you feel like without logic

Quote:

You hate the music? Nooooo!
Heh and "hate" is a mild way to put it. The opening credits, I'm fine with, I like them even but most of the rest... nah. The worst has to be that damn synthesizer loop that plays at the Opera House on Kobol and pretty much everywhere. Oooooh boy

Quote:

I think BSG is more drama than sci-fi too, it's about the characters, but yeah, the sci-fi element was still incredibly important, much more than in TXF.
 agreed.

 the mini is very very good scifi.

Yeah, but I still don't like the way he is handling this. The other episode Lisa looked like a moron discovering a camera in her cell.

I liked how they explored

 well I'm not an idiot and I am pretty good with computers but I'll admit to being a total cell phone n00b so I can't really find fault with that.

 they were really really good. I never really liked the unsteady space shots though. Makes no sense to me.

The only good part of the final five imo but it was in contradiction with a lot of things that happened before.

 but I didn't mean that, I meant her reaction to it.

Really? I loved it! Reminiscent of documentary style (+ the lighting) made it look more real in an interesting way to me.

I actually don't remember (SHOCKER!) but let's see when I watch it again knowing where everything goes

 I know :P but hey it's a comedy. Will is a smart guy who can't put his pants on :lmao: it's not a statement on men in general (I hope )

I have no problem with the style. It just doesn't really apply in space. Moves are slower in space. And zooms in and out should have been more drastic.

 that's the beauty of watching things over and over ;)

 oh Will. But sometimes I find the comedy out of place. I don't mind clever funny lines, but physical comedy doesn't really fit with the serious news world imo

Oh I see. But I liked it anyway

It is! The flaws become more evident, but it's amazing to see all the great things you missed at first.

I forgot to mentioned, I watched The Women of Qumar and I loved it! CJ :love:

 I see where you're coming from on that. A lot more physical comedy than on TWW. I think he's trying to balance the very serious issue heavy content and it's very theatrical.

Right. The good and the bad become highlighted somehow but it's all good :)

Ohhhh mama! :thud::thud: CJ/Nancy scene :thud:
"If we had sold M1-A1 to South Africa 15 years ago, you would have set the building on fire. Thank God we never had to refuel in Johannesburg!"....."they are beating the women Nancy" :( :( GAHH! so good!

I watched one episode of "Poirot" yesterday. Not a very popular tv show but Elizabeth was on it and everything was perfect and I was happy :sigh::love::in_love: Besides her scenes (especially her last one, SO HEARTBREAKING :bawl:), I didn't enjoy it THAT much but it was okay :) Have you ever watched "Poirot" ?

 both episodes! I was a little disappointed by 202 but I loved the premiere.

Heh it's a very very popular show actually. Lasted 12 years I think and I'm not 100% positive but I believe they have more episodes coming next year. I only saw a few episodes but I'm sure Joana saw them all, she's an Agatha Christie buff ;)

GAHH! so good!
 and how about "You know if I was living in Qumar I wouldn't be allowed to say 'shove it up your *** Toby.' But since I'm not, shove it up your *** Toby"
Ooooooh!

:woot: I'm sure FOX won't take a lot of convincing. However IWTB failed compared to FTF on the box office, it more than recouped its budget and the advertising was pretty minimal. Not to mention the DVD sales for the show and merchandising flared up again after the movie and the budget for the movie was less than FTF's.
